چکیده

In this work, the aim was to study distribution and accumulation of non-process elements (NPEs) in recovery cycle Finnish pulp mills look at whether geographical location (North vs. South) correlates with current NPE levels. addition, a comparison older similar measurements made an attempt analyze reasons behind differences most typical elements, aluminum (Al), silicon (Si), calcium (Ca), phosphorus (P), magnesium (Mg), manganese (Mn), chlorine (Cl), potassium (K), taking into account main white liquor, sodium (Na) sulfur (S). The extensive laboratory results gained are from seven sampling points six present analytical data metal concentrations. obtained presents update previous studies. levels found did not statistically differ between North South Finland. levels, apart phosphorus, today have changed considerably compared earlier investigations 1990s. newest data, concentration consistently higher as-fired black electrostatic precipitator (ESP) ash, lime mud, green liquor than results. Al, Si, Ca, P, Mg boiler ESP ash were As start close their systems more, stronger NPEs can be expected, increasing likelihood more operational problems process. Further understanding where accumulate how they effectively removed will valuable knowledge future.

Characterisation of non-condensable sulphur containing gases from Kraft pulp mills.

This paper describes work performed on the sampling and analysis of non-condensable gases (NCG) emitted from diffuse sources of a Portuguese Kraft pulp mill, which is the background information for a NCG collection, treatment and disposal system. The variability found in the composition of the gaseous compounds showed the existence of gaseous streams other than typical total reduced sulphur (TR...

Dissolving Pulp (alpha-cellulose) from Corn Stalk by Kraft Process

Corn stalk can be used as an alternative non-wood raw material to produce cellulosic dissolving grade pulp. In this work, the potential of corn stalk in the production of dissolving pulp (alpha-cellulose) was investigated. It was collect ed from a corn stalk farm of Kermanshah, Iran. The sequences of experimental work were: water and acid prehydrolysis at 160˚C for 30min, followed by Kraft pulp...

Analysis of pitch deposits produced in kraft pulp mills using a totally chlorine free bleaching sequence.

Two organic deposits accumulated in a Kraft pulp mill during pulping of Eucalyptus globulus wood and throughout a TCF (totally chlorine free) bleaching sequence were characterized. One deposit was collected after cooking and an oxygen delignification stage while the other was collected after bleaching with hydrogen peroxide. The deposits were Soxhlet extracted with acetone, and the extracts red...

Bio-oil and Biochar as Additional Revenue Streams in South American Kraft Pulp Mills

Pulp and paper companies are seeking opportunities beyond the traditional production of market pulp. One interesting alternative is to expand their revenue streams by adding value to the wood residues that they generate. Considering that excess heat and electricity can be used for biomass pre-treatment and conversion, the aim of this work is to show how the integrated production of bio-oil or b...
